A before and after study which took place in a Canadian tertiary care paediatric teaching hospital looking at the effect of access to point-of-care evidence within a computerized order entry system (CPOE) for children with bronchiolitis.
Clinical Evidence was integrated into a computerized physician order entry system. The study found that this resulted in a change in clinical practice, specifically showing a significant decrease in antibiotic use and an end to multiple bronchodilator use for children with bronchiolitis.
